OPEN 60

The Open 60 is one of the fastest mono-hull sailing boats, designed for speed and certainly not comfort. The ‘open’ design eliminates a fixed design but there are ‘box rules’, ie length and stability requirements which give designers parameters within which to work. Southern Spars designs exceptional custom rigs to owners specifications, within the box rules.

The class is governed by the International Monohull Open Classes Association (IMOCA). Sailed singlehanded, Open 60s are raced at the extremes of the sport including the round-the-world Vendee Globe and Velux 5 Oceans races.
