At 63.4 metres the Kokomo rig is Southern Spars' longest mast to date.  The bare mast tube alone represents 3.5 tonnes of high modulus carbon fibre and once all components and rigging are included it will weigh 11.5 tonnes excluding the boom. 

The Kokomo rig incorporates our Southern Furl.  Working in conjunction with Reckmann we created a unit which can be stowed beneath deck when not in use. The rig includes a Southern Spars designed crow's nest which travels 30 metres above the deck working on a captive winch system with custom built safety locking system.

A year in the design and construction, 30,000 man hours have been applied in producing the exceptional Kokomo rig.
