J/70's On Fire at Key West

93 of the 120 strong fleet were powered by Southern Spars

The Southern Spars rigged J/70 fleet really lit things up at Key West Race Week with the largest one-design class sailing in the event. Putting 39 boats on the line, the J/70 fleet eclipsed the venerable Melges 24 class.
With hull number 300 coming out of the mold, the J/70 is one of the fastest growing one designs ever produced by J Boats. Southern Spars one-design team in Sri Lanka are in full swing supplying the carbon rigs for the J70. At 24 feet, the J/70 checks off all the boxes you are looking for
in a one design day sailer: trailerable, easy to rig and sail, power both up and downwind, and a true performer in both light and heavy air.

Recently named European Boat of the Year at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, the J/70's have ignited the sailing world both nationally and abroad, and will be welcome as a one design class at the Rolex Big Boat Series this coming September.
